Tips for Skin in Winter

December 07, 2014
Hey lovely people on the internet!~ It's me Jenny!

The temperature drops and the heater is turned on maximum: Winter is there!!
Winter brings uncomfortable dryness to our face, hands and feets. The problem can get even worser for some of us. It can lead to flaking, cracking or even eczema (the skin becomes inflamed).
That's not good! So that's the reason why we need to protect our skin! Everyone wants nice looking skin in winter! Here I've listed some tips:

1.Switch some skincare products
Your skincare products work well in Spring/Summer but as the weather conditions change, so, too, should your skincare routine. Try to use an oil-based product rather than a water-based one.

2.Water
Water is the key to beautiful skin! Drink a lot of water and your skin will feel hydrated during the season.

3.Vitamin C and Leafy Greens
Try to consume  a lot of fruits, which contain Vitamin C and eat dark leafy greens. They have great benefits for your skin. On my latest post I've listed the benefits of VITAMINS .

4.No Hot Showers

Well, on a cold day the best for your body is a hot shower. -> No! Hot showers can dry your skin out. Try to use lukewarm or warm water.

5. Comfortable
Choose soft and breathable fabrics, like cotton. They don't irritate your skin. Try to avoid itchy fabrics like polyester. Dress yourself in loose and comfortable clothes.

6.Lips
Chapped Lips? Use a lipbalm or Vaseline. Home remedy: 2 tablespoons Sugar + 1 tablespoon Honey

7.Hands
Moisturize, Moisturize, Moisturize!
Try to use good hand creams! And protect your skin with gloves agains the harsh wind.

8.Feet
The skin on our feet is naturally dry, because the skin has no oil glands. Apply lotion after showering or bathing.

These were only small tips. If your skin got more trouble with dryness , I would go to the doctor. The doctor can help you more with your problems.

Question: How is your skin condition in Winter?
Well, mine is great haha~

Love, Jenny

  3. It's actually the opposite where I live, we're going into summer, but there are some tips I need to heed to. Like water, drinking lots and lots of water! I also had no idea about the hot shower thing, not that I'll be taking some for a while (and by that I mean I'll still be having showers, not the very hot kind lol) still good to know!

  4. Hi Jenny!

Though we don't have winter here in the Philippines, I couldn't agree more about how useful and informative all these tips!

I'll keep in mind so if ever one day, I'll go to other country with my "dream" winter, I won't have to worry about my skin.

I'll be sharing it on Twitter so other people will also be able to have this tips from you!
